MC Alger continued to extend their lead at the top of Algeria’s Ligue 1 Mobilis table on Friday with a 2-0 victory at Paradou AC.
Mohamed Bangoura’s penalty put the visitors ahead before the half hour mark and Zakaria Naidji struck ten minutes later to confirm an insurmountable lead for the leaders and reigning champions.
Guinean striker Bangoura was a bit fortunate on his spot kick, which PAC goalkeeper Ahmed Abdelkader got a hand to but could not keep the ball out of his goal. A quick team movement outside the penalty area in the 38th minute led to the second goal when Naidji reacted to place his finish beyond the reach of Abdelkader.

The lead is now six points for MCA, who have three games in hand on second place team CS Constantine. Following eliminations from the CAF Champions League and Algerian Cup, the Algiers giants now have their full focus on a successful title defense.
Elsewhere on Friday, JS Kabylie fell 1-2 at USM Khenchela to leave another Champions League participants fifteen points back of leaders MCA. Four more matches will take place late in the evening with the next fixtures taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
