MC Alger ready to offload Andy Delort as future looks sealed

Algerian international Andy Delort is expected to leave MC Alger after he was left out of first-team training this week. The French-born forward has been preparing with the Algerian champions, but he is not in the plans of head coach Rhulani Mokwena.

Delort spent the latter part of last season at French Ligue 1 side Montpellier on loan. Nonetheless, his stay in Ligue 1 yielded no fruit as he was demoted to the reserve team while the club was relegated to the second division.

MC Alger are now confident that they will offload the 33-year-old striker. During his chaotic six-month stay at the Algiers giants, Delort managed to bag three league goals. His high salary forced the club to rethink the decision to sign the striker for three seasons.

MC Alger are ready to let go of the former Nice forward for free, as he is expected to join Kuwaiti side Al Qadsia. Mokwena did allow Delort to take part in the preseason preparation camp in Tunisia but opted to omit him before the Algerian Ligue 1 kickoff this week. Andy Delort’s future at MC Alger is now sealed, with his brief stay in North Africa ending prematurely.
