Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the departure of midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane. The club announced on Monday that his contract was mutually terminated.

He is the fifth player to leave Chiefs ahead of the 2025/26 season. Others players who have parted ways with the club include Ranga Chivaviro, Edmilson Dove, Sabelo Radebe and Njabulo Blom, who returned to his parent club, St Louis City SC.

Mdantsane's tenure at Amakhosi saw him struggle to rediscover the impressive form that made him a standout at Cape Town City FC. A lack of playing time at Chiefs led to a loan spell with Richards Bay FC in January.

Further hindering his progress, Mdantsane also contended with an injury sustained in a motor vehicle accident early in the 2024/25 season, severely limiting his appearances. Ultimately, he concluded his time with the Soweto giants without featuring in a single match last season.

Mdantsane is leaving Chiefs after just two years, despite having one season remaining on his contract.

In a concise statement, Amakhosi extended their best wishes to the attacking midfielder for his future endeavours.

"Kaizer Chiefs and midfielder, Mduduzi Mdantsane, have mutually agreed to part ways," the club statement reads. "The 30-year-old player joined Amakhosi from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

"Last season, in order to accumulate some game-time after recovering from injury, he spent the latter part of the campaign on loan at Richards Bay FC. During his time with Chiefs, Mdantsane made 16 appearances across all competitions. We wish Mdu all the best."
