Medeama SC will welcome Berekum Chelsea to the Tarkwa TNA Park in an all former champions affair for the Ghana Premier League week 13 fixture on Sunday. The enounter will start at 3PM GMT.
Medeama, who are two time Ghana FA Cup champions have seen great transformation under coach Ibrahim Tanko and the former Ghana international first reacted to their 2-2 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium against Asante Kotoko.
“It was a very painful draw even though you are playing at Kotoko’s home ground, leading 2-0 and they equalize, it’s very bitter but I think the game is gone and we have to concentrate on the Berekum Chelsea game,” Ibrahim Tanko told MEDi TV.
Ahead of their week 13 match against Berekum Chelsea, Ibrahim Tanko says the team approach will not be different from the usual tactics employed in other games.
“I mean the approach is the same like any other game, we are playing at home, we want to control the game, to create more chances, to score more goals so there is nothing new [and] we know that they are the ones who beat us last year so definitely we are going to prepare well for them, we need the three points of course.”
“We are playing always to win and even in Kumasi we picked a point there and because we scpre twice and they equalized it seems like a loss to us and so we know Berekum Chelsea is a strong side and so we are preparing very well for them.”
Medeama have recorded six wins this campaign, amassing six draws and one defeat on 23 points, same as two time premier league champions Aduana and Heart of Lions.
