Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko has a job on his hands when he leads the two time FA Cup champions in his first game at home to Legon Cities on Sunday, February 2.

The former Ghana international signed a two-and-half year deal, the club announced on Wednesday. The UEFA License A holder had previously worked as Sporting Director at Accra Lions before leaving on mutual grounds to join the Mauve and Yellow.

Tanko said: “In every football game it is difficult but now I am here as a coach and Legon Cities are coming with two wins and we are coming with two losses and so definitely the players need motivation and I am the one to do that,” Ibrahim Tanko told Medi TV.

“We have training and on Saturday, we have our last training and definitely we are going to work hard and put smiles on the faces of the fans.

“We need three points at home and we have to get these three points at home so that it will make it easy for us to continue our project so this is what we are going to do so we need the three points. We want the fans to come and support the team definitely we and the fans will make them happy,” Tanko added.

Medeama SC currently sit in 7th on the league table with 26 points from 18 league matches, needing the three points in week 19 at the Tarkwa TnA Park.
