Malawi national team coach Kalisto Pasuwa has unleashed Germany-based starlet Mwisho Mhango by giving him his first Flames call-up.
The former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets gaffer named the Hannover 96 FC winger in the final 25-man squad for the Mukuru Four Nations Tournament scheduled for Botswana from 28 to 31 March 2026 in Francistown.

Speaking on the inclusion of the Malawi under-20 national team attacker in the senior team, Pasuwa said he expects the youngster to fight for his place among the seniors.
“As you know, we have been building up the team so we thought this is the chance we can look in all the departments to see if we are strong enough to participate in the forthcoming games for AFCON and World Cup games,” the coach said.
“That is part of building up our team. We also have Festus Duwe [another youngster], so we are saying much as we are building, we need to build with youngsters because these are the future players of tomorrow. He [Mhango] is not there to add numbers to participate in results.”
Pasuwa has since recalled Mighty Wanderers winger Gaddie Chirwa.
Pasuwa has retained 15 players who featured in November friendlies against Lesotho, while dropping defender Denis Chembezi due to travel restrictions. Zambia-based forward Chifundo Mphasi has been ruled out through injury at Power Dynamos FC.
All the foreign-based players are in camp save for Romani-based defender Charles Petro, who will fly straight to Botswana.
The squad comprises 17 foreign-based players and eight home-based players.
According to the draw held on Tuesday, the Flames will face Zambia in the first semifinal, while hosts Botswana will meet Zimbabwe.
The winner between Malawi and Zambia will progress to the final to take on either Botswana or Zimbabwe, with the losers relegated to slug it out in a third-place playoff.
