Nigeria international Michelle Alozie was acquired by National Women Soccer League (NWSL) side Chicago Stars FC from Houston Dash following a trade between the two clubs, as confirmed by both clubs and the player on Tuesday.

The deal, which sees Houston receive $40,000 in NWSL allocation money in exchange for the versatile defender and forward, ends a four-year spell for Alozie in Texas, where she evolved from a debutant into a regular contributor in the American top flight.
Confirming the exit of the Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) champion, Houston Dash took to their social media handle to appreciate Alozie for her service.

Shortly after the trade was announced, the Chicago Stars confirmed on that they secured Alozie’s future by signing her to a new three-year contract that will keep her in the “Windy City” through the 2028 season.

The 28-year-old joined the Dash in 2021 before earning a full roster spot and becoming a mainstay in the starting eleven, making over 80 appearances for the club.
At the international level, Alozie continues to be a cornerstone for Nigeria. She recently helped the Super Falcons win the 2025 WAFCON along with appearances in the Women’s World Cup and the Olympic Games.
