Ugandan international midfielder Shafik Kagimu, popularly known as “Kuchi,” has officially parted ways with North Macedonian topflight outfit FK Rabotnicki following the expiry of his contract.
Kagimu joined Rabotnicki in August 2023 from Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, penning a two-year deal. However, his stay was cut short when he was loaned out during the second half of last season to fellow Macedonian Premier League side AP Brera Strumica.
While on loan, the former URA FC captain played a pivotal role in helping Brera Strumica beat the drop, putting in several key performances during the campaign’s decisive stages.
Across his time at FK Rabotnicki, Kagimu made 34 appearances, registering one goal and two assists. Before his move to Kenya and later Europe, Kagimu was a mainstay at Uganda Revenue Authority FC in the Uganda Premier League, where he captained the Tax Collectors during a long and impactful tenure.
He leaves Rabotnicki as one of only two Ugandans to have featured in the Macedonian top division recently, with forward Rogers Mato currently turning out for FK Vardar.
