Tanzania national team coach Miguel Gamondi has remained confident of buiding a formidable national team as they prepare for their upcoming FIFA Series friendly matches in Rwanda.
The Taifa Stars have already landed in Kigali ahead of the FIFA Series. Gamondi’s side will open their campaign on March 26 against European opponents Liechtenstein national team.

They will then face Aruba national team and Macau national team in subsequent fixtures.
“The idea is to have a strong team ready for AFCON, and this is a good opportunity to prepare the players mentally and physically,” said Gamondi in Kigali.
“We need to make the most of this chance, as these are more than just friendly matches—they carry a competitive edge.”
The Argentine coach retained the backbone of the squad that featured at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), signalling stability in both structure and playing philosophy.
“This squad keeps the core structure of the AFCON 2025 team while introducing some new faces. We want to start giving opportunities to younger players and help them grow into the national team,” said Gamondi as quoted by Daily News.
He added: “We want to give as many players as possible minutes to build experience. It is an important opportunity for both the younger and more experienced players.
“Football is about mindset. You must believe in yourself and play without fear. That belief gives you the confidence to perform.”
Gamondi concluded: “This is a long-term process. Our priority is to compete at a high level and represent Tanzania with full commitment.”
