Abderrahmane Meziane, forward for the Algeria local national team, spoke following his side’s dominant 3–0 victory over hosts Uganda in the opening match of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) group stage.
Speaking after the match, Meziane said:
“It was a well-deserved and convincing win. We thank the host country Uganda for their warm hospitality and say ‘hard luck’ to them.”
The Algerian striker jokingly added that he lost one of his teeth.
On a more serious note, he explained:
“This kind of result gives us peace of mind and allows us to play with more confidence in the upcoming matches. It’s the type of win that builds trust and momentum.”
