Major League Soccer’s “El Trafico” derby from Los Angeles completed the weekend’s action on Sunday with Denis Bouanga and Marco Reus starring in a thrilling 2-2 draw between Los Angeles FC and Los Angeles Galaxy. Marco Reus was the star for the Galaxy with two goals while Gabon national team star Denis Bouanga scored a highlight reel strike for LAFC.
After three-time Bundesliga Player of the Year winner Reus put the struggling Galaxy ahead less than six minutes into the game, Bouanga responded soon after with a stunning blast from distance. LAFC’s superstar cut inside from the left wing to send his strike past a diving John McCarthy in the Galaxy goal.
Nathan Ordaz put visitors LAFC ahead early in the second half but it was Reus who provided the late answer for Galaxy with a well placed free kick in the 87th minute.
LAFC are undefeated in their last seven league games, leaving them fifth on the Western Conference table. Bouanga has seven goals and three assists during LAFC’s seven-match unbeaten run and is finding his stride after a difficult start to the season. LAFC will be favored in their next MLS match on Saturday when they travel to face CF Montreal.
