Modern Sport sign Al Ahly goalkeeper

Modern Sport have announced the signing of Al Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Makhlouf on a season-long loan deal, strengthening their squad ahead of the new Nile Egyptian League campaign.

Makhlouf, born in 2003, was Al Ahly’s fourth-choice goalkeeper last season, behind Mohamed El Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, and Hamza Alaa. With limited playing opportunities, the loan move is seen as a logical step for the promising shot-stopper to gain more first-team experience.

Modern Sport already boast Egypt international Mohamed Abou Gabal between the posts, but Makhlouf’s arrival adds depth and competition to the goalkeeping department.

He becomes Modern Sport’s 11th signing of the current transfer window, following the arrivals of Mohamed Abou Gabal, Rachad El Metwally, Emad Hamdy, Tunisian Ahmed El Mezhoud, Kamal El Sayed, Mahmoud Mamdouh, Nigerian Godwin Chika, Mohamed Yousry, Mostafa Motawe, and Algerian Adam Redjem.
