Al Hilal SC captain Mohamed Abdelrahman reflected on a highly successful 2024-2025 season in which the Sudanese giants dominated nearly every competition they participated in.
The team secured the Sudan Cup, the Sudan Elite League, topped the Mauritanian League, and also claimed bronze at the CECAFA Cup.
Speaking to Al Hilal’s official media center, Abdelrahman said:
“We wrapped up the 2025 season, which began in Tanzania. We played in the CECAFA Cup and managed to take third place. After that, we lifted the Sudanese Super Cup, and then we moved to Mauritania and played in the Mauritanian League.”
He added:
“A special greeting to all the Mauritanian people and to the President of the Mauritanian Football Federation, Mr. Ahmed Yahya. Those were beautiful days in Mauritania. After the Mauritanian League, we continued in the CAF Champions League until we reached the quarter-finals. We were not fortunate enough to qualify further, but we promise our fans that one day we will sing ‘We are the champions’ for Al Hilal. We also managed to win the Mauritanian League, followed by the Elite League, which was a major event after a long pause in Sudanese football, and we won the Sudan Cup.”
Mohamed Abdelrahman then delivered several heartfelt messages of appreciation:
“I thank head coach Florent Ibenge — no matter how much I speak, I won’t be able to do him justice. A greeting from the heart, and a special greeting from all the players to you. Thank you for everything you have given us, and we wish you the best of luck with Azam FC in Tanzania.”
“I send my greetings to Mr. Hisham Al-Subat, President of Al Hilal’s Board of Directors, who is always with us in every detail and on every trip, even if not physically present. I wish him health, wellness, and continued success.”
“I also thank Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, who is always with us in the stadium, at the hotel, on our travels — in everything. I wish him health, wellness, and success in his life and in his administrative journey with this great club, Al Hilal.”
“And I thank head coach Khaled Bakhit. I wish him health and wellness. To us, you are a brother and everything.”
“Greetings to all my fellow players. I wish you health and wellness — you lifted the name of Al Hilal’s supporters high.”
“Greetings to the entire board of directors and to every individual who works at Al Hilal and contributes to the club’s progress. I say to you: thank you, and I wish you health and wellness.”
With these powerful and emotional statements, Abdelrahman underscored the unity and ambition driving Al Hilal’s resurgence on both domestic and continental fronts.
