Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, currently playing for Hungarian club Ferencváros, is on the verge of joining Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Ferencváros sporting director Tomas Hajnal confirmed that the Hungarian club has reached an agreement with Al Ahly regarding Ben Romdhane. Contracts between the two clubs have been signed and the player will officially join Al Ahly if he passes his medical examination after signing an agreement with the Cairo giants.

Hajnal shared his thoughts with Hungarian newspaper M4 Sport, saying:

"In recent months and weeks, we have been told that Al Ahly has contacted us several times about him. In the recent period, these contacts have become much more intense, and an agreement was reached between the two teams yesterday. The contracts have been signed, and today the player has signed the agreement, so I can say that if he goes through the medical exam, he will be a footballer for Al Ahly from next season. For us, this is a transfer with very advantageous business terms."

Ben Romdhane is currently in his second season with Ferencváros after joining from Tunisian side Esperance. During his time in Hungary, Ben Romdhane achieved the Hungarian league title last season.

To date, he has played 74 matches for Ferencváros, scoring 8 goals and providing 11 assists.

Ferencváros is currently leading the Hungarian league table by 3 points with just 4 matches left in the season. Before his move to Ferencváros, Ben Romdhane had a successful career with Esperance, winning the CAF Champions League once, the Tunisian league five times and the Tunisian Super Cup once.

On the international stage, Ben Romdhane has earned 45 caps for Tunisia scoring three goals.
