Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's record goal scorer in the English Premier League, has expressed his desire to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or award given his impressive performances this season.

Salah is one of the leading contenders for the 2025 Ballon d'Or, given the Egyptian Pharaoh captain's performances this season with his club Liverpool in various competitions. In an interview with the French newspaper L'Equipe, the Reds star spoke in a direct and calm tone, declaring that he had become a "Liverpool legend" and insisting that his career still holds greater ambitions, including the dream of winning the Ballon d'Or: "I am absolutely certain I am a Liverpool legend. I give everything I have in training and in matches."

Liverpool's record goalscorer added: "When I joined Roma, I felt I could score a lot of goals and I expected to win the Ballon d'Or if I changed clubs." Salah continued: "At the time, I asked myself, 'Was I crazy? How could I have thought that? But when I arrived in Liverpool, things were completely different."

Regarding his dream of winning the Ballon d'Or, Salah explained that he still hopes to achieve it despite Liverpool's European failure this season:

"It's not in my hands, but I really aspire to win the Ballon d'Or for my people. When you grow up in an Egyptian village, it's hard to dream about it. But when I arrived at Liverpool, I started to believe that this dream could come true. Even if I don't win it, I will still be proud of my career. I'm 32 today and I'll be 33 in June. Many Ballon d'Or winners were in their thirties, like Ronaldo, Messi, Modric, and Benzema."

Next season will be important: "We have the Champions League, the league title, the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, and maybe the World Cup. My goal is clear: to win everything," Salah reassured himself.
