Mohamed Salah records unwanted milestone for the first time in his Liverpool career

Liverpool’s poor run in the Premier League continued on Sunday with a 2–1 home defeat to Manchester United at Anfield, and once again, Egyptian star Mohamed Salah failed to make an impact.

The loss marked Liverpool’s third consecutive league defeat, following earlier setbacks against Crystal Palace and Chelsea, leaving Arne Slot’s side under growing pressure after what began as a promising campaign.

Salah, meanwhile, is enduring one of his most subdued spells since joining Liverpool. The 33-year-old has scored only two Premier League goals this season — against Bournemouth and Burnley — and both came in the early weeks of the campaign.

According to Sky Sports, Salah has now gone seven consecutive league matches without scoring from open play, the longest such drought of his Liverpool career. His last goal from open play came against Bournemouth in the first round, while his second strike of the season was a penalty versus Burnley in the second round.

Salah’s dip in form stands in sharp contrast to the red-hot Erling Haaland, who leads the Premier League scoring charts with 11 goals, nine more than the Egyptian forward.
