The Pharaohs forward has paid tribute to the attacker after he completed a loan switch to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa.
“You’ll be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon. You leave as a champion, and I’ve got no doubt you’ll do big things at your new club. They are lucky to have you,” he remarked on his Instagram account.
Elliott, known for his versatility, has joined a growing list of big-name players to have signed for Unai Emery’s team. The ex-Liverpool man has joined latest arrivals such as Victor Lindelöf and Jadon Sancho at Villa.
Elliott seemed certain of staying with the Premier League champions. However, the arrival of Alexander Isak from Newcastle seemed to have prompted the former England youth international to leave.
The player joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2019 and made 147 appearances. He was, however, limited to just one league appearance last season.
