Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year for the 2024/25 Premier League season, becoming the first player in the competition’s history to win the prestigious award three times.
The Liverpool forward previously claimed the honor in 2018 and 2022, and his latest triumph cements his place among the league’s all-time greats.
Salah outshone an elite shortlist that included Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Chelsea’s breakout star Cole Palmer, and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice.
His remarkable campaign saw him score 29 goals to finish as the league’s top scorer, playing a decisive role in guiding Liverpool to the Premier League title.
By lifting the award for a third time, Mohamed Salah surpassed an illustrious group of players who won it twice — Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Kevin De Bruyne.
The Egyptian’s contributions and performances have not only underpinned Liverpool’s domestic success but also etched his name deeper into English football history.
