Following a breakout 2025 season in Finland’s top flight Veikkausliiga with KuPS, talented young forward Mohamed Touré has completed a transfer to Czech giants Viktoria Plzeň. The Guinean’s new club announced the move on Thursday.

The 20-year-old striker joins for a transfer fee reported at €1.5 million after spending 18 months in Finland, where he first joined second tier club Turun Palloseura (TPS) for the 2024 campaign.

Mohamed Touré: From Finnish 2nd tier to a Europa League club

He made a handful of appearances with TPS on a short-term contract before completing a free transfer to Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS), where he collected 18 goals in 52 appearances during his time with the top flight side. Touré helped the club successfully defend their Veikkausliiga title, finishing tied for fifth on the top scorer chart.

The native of Kindia gained his first opportunity in Europe after training with the Guinea Olympic team ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. While he was not selected for the final squad, his time in Europe opened up an opportunity to join VPS on trial before signing a contract to represent the second division club.

And now he is with a club that is establishing itself as a desired destination for promising African players. Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi recently departed the club for the Italian Serie A in a big-money transfer to Pisa while another Nigerian forward, Salim Fago Lawal, also completed a transfer to the club from Croatian side FK Istra 1961.
