“Mohammed Kudus is one of the best players Ghana has” – Partey

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has extolled the qualities of compatriot Mohammed Kudus, with whom he shares the platform of playing in the English Premier League.

Kudus played in 32 league games last season, scoring four goals during a season that fell short of expectations during a difficult campaign for West Ham. Partey, who has been in fine form for Arsenal, believes Kudus possesses a lot of qualities despite struggling to get many goals last season.

“Well I think I have to say a difficult year for [Mohammed] Kudus [and] it also depends on the goals but when it comes to quality you can never say it is a difficult year for him.

“For me I always know he is one of the best we have in the country and you know he is our star boy,” Partey said.

Kudus, 24, cut his teeth at Ghana-based football academy Right to Dream before moving to Danish outfit Nordsjælland in the 2018/19 season where became an instant hit.

The attacking midfielder had several overtures after his exploits with Nordsjælland but Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam snapped him up reportedly to the tune of €9 million euros. His move to West Ham for €43 million ahead of the 2023-24 season made him the second most expensive Ghanaian player behind Thomas Partey.

Since moving to West Ham, Kudus has 19 goals and 10 assists in 80 games across all competitions.
