Mohammed Kudus officially completes transfer to Tottenham

Ghanaian superstar Mohammed Kudus will stay in London but will compete for a new club for the 2025-26 English Premier League campaign after his massive transfer to Tottenham Hotspur was confirmed late Thursday evening. The 24-year-old moves from West Ham United to North London after Spurs spent €63.8 million for the attacking midfielder’s services.

All signs pointed towards the big money transfer being made official on Thursday after transfer insiders indicated that Kudus would undergo a medical and Tottenham made the move official in the evening. Kudus leaves West Ham United after two seasons where he accumulated 19 goals and 10 assists in 80 appearances across all competitions.

But Kudus will have plenty of work to do to establish himself in a stronger squad that features plenty of talent. The Ghanaian playmaker’s level and productivity noticeably slipped during the 2024-25 season as West Ham struggled throughout the campaign to finish 14th on the league table.

The moments of brilliance decreased but there were plenty of times when Kudus reminded the world of his immense talent, something that Spurs will believe they can bring out of the Right to Dream Academy graduate on a more regular basis. With the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League this season, the stage is bigger and the lights are brighter for the player who Ghanaians love to call “Starboy”.
