After three seasons with Portuguese top flight side Arouca, Guinean midfielder Morlaye Sylle will embark on a new chapter in his career.
The 26-year-old announced on his social media that he will leave Arouca when his contract expires at the end of June. Sylla published a message thanking the Primeira Liga club and its supporters:
Sylla was a star player at top Guinean club Horoya AC, where featured regularly in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. He came to the attention of clubs abroad after leading Guinea to a third place finish at the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) played in early 2021. Sylla scored three goals in the competition, displaying his skill on set pieces and attacking creativity.
Sylla moved to Arouca on a free transfer and established himself as a regular contributor for a team that surprised many by finishing in fifth place during Sylla’s first season. He made 114 appearances in all competitions for Arouca, scoring 10 goals with 9 assists.
An attacking midfielder who can also feature on either flank, Sylla is a regular member of the Guinea national team. He has 8 goals in 30 appearances with the Syli National.
