Morocco national team, led by head coach Walid Regragui, have received a significant boost ahead of their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2025 match against Mali, with right-back Achraf Hakimi declared fit and ready for action.
Morocco are set to face Mali on Friday, December 26, in a Group B encounter at the Africa Cup of Nations. The match will kick off at 8:00 PM GMT at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the capital, Rabat.
According to Moroccan newspaper Al-Mountakhab, the Atlas Lions have continued their preparations for the Mali fixture under the supervision of Regragui. Hakimi trained normally with the squad during Monday’s session and is expected to take part in Tuesday’s training as well, strengthening his chances of featuring in the upcoming match after a lengthy absence.
The Paris Saint-Germain defender returned to training after being sidelined for six weeks due to an ankle injury sustained during a UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Morocco opened their AFCON 2025 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Comoros last Sunday, with goals scored by Brahim Díaz and Ayoub El Kaabi.
