Pyramids FC and Morocco right back Mohamed Chibi has stressed that the Atlas Lions must be ready for Comoros game in the opening of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Morocco will face Comoros on Sunday at 7:00 PM GMT at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, in the opening game of AFCON 2025. The tournament will be hosted across nine stadiums in Morocco, with 24 teams competing for the continental title.
Speaking to Moroccan newspaper Al-Botola: “The upcoming Africa Cup of Nations will be played in our country, and we are fully aware of the responsibility. We are focused on one goal only,” Morocco right back said.
He added ahead of Sunday’s match: “We know that the game against Comoros will be the key to the tournament, so we must be fully prepared for it.”
Chibi has been included in Morocco’s squad for AFCON 2025 and will compete for the main Morocco right-back position alongside Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi.
Morocco have been drawn into Group A, where they will open their campaign against Comoros before facing Mali and Zambia in the remaining group-stage matches.
