Morocco’s Brahim Diaz set to stay at Real Madrid

Brahim Diaz has agreed to renew his contract at Real Madrid on principle. The Moroccan winger is under contract with the Spanish giants until June 2027.

Diaz turned 26 today and is set to prolong his stay at Real Madrid. According to Fabrizio Romano, all conditions are met for the player to sign his extension for the coming years. Díaz played 31 league games last term and scored four goals. He has also featured in the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup matches.

Recent rumors linked Diaz to a move away from Santiago Bernabeu. Three Saudi Pro League clubs and Benfica were said to be interested in signing him, but the prospect of the player leaving Real during the summer transfer window now looks like a distant dream. As per Marca, Real Madrid will offer the player a five-year contract in the coming days.

The Moroccan international signed for Real Madrid in 2019 from Manchester City and had a successful loan spell at AC Milan, where he won the Serie A in 2022. With Real Madrid, he has won the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
