Morrocan Noussair Mazraoui gives brutal Premier League verdict

Manchester United’s Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui has given his brutal assessment of the Premier League.

The former Bayern Munich star told The National newspaper that the Premier League is by far the toughest.

“You hope to stay fit and play as much as possible. That hadn’t always been the case for me,” he is quoted as saying.

“The Premier League is a bigger demand than other competitions, so you must take even more care of your body.”

Mazraoui cited a lack of a winter break in the Premier League as one of the most challenging part of playing in England.

“It was no winter break for me for the first time. Instead, you have even more games. Previously, I’d felt during end of November or at the start of December that your body is looking forward to a little break. In the Premier League, you don’t get that one. So that was a hard period,” the United star added.

“The step up in quality was also clear. “The speed of play, it’s high, but I think it has a lot to do also with the quality of the other teams – there’s a lot of quality in the Premier League.”

The wingback played in other top leagues in Europe before heading to England last season.

Mazraoui is now well- informed on the difference between the Premier League and the other top four leagues of Spain, Italy, Germany and France. The Moroccan featured in 57 matches for United last season.
