A total of 24 national teams are preparing to compete in the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to be hosted by Morocco from 21 December until 18 January. The teams have been divided into six groups as they begin their quest for continental glory.
According to statistics published by Transfermarkt, the combined market value of all participating national teams exceeds €2 billion, highlighting the quality of African football.
Hosts Morocco top the list as the most valuable squad in the tournament, with a total market value of €436.65 million. Senegal follow closely in second place at €418.40 million, while Ivory Coast rank third with a value of €342.03 million.
Nigeria sit fourth on the list with €284.80 million, ahead of Cameroon, who occupy fifth place with a market value of €254.40 million. Algeria complete the top six, with their squad valued at €224.80 million.
The list of high-value teams also includes Mali (€149.35 million), Egypt (€136.40 million), DR Congo (€132.40 million), and Burkina Faso (€119.40 million).
