Midfielder Linda Motlhalo remains confident that Banyana Banyana have what it takes to retain their WAFCON trophy following their COSAFA Three-Nation Series Cup triumph.

The South Africa women's national team won the Series Cup with wins against Botswana and Zambia, and Motlhalo believes they will continue their success at the WAFCON in July.

“WAFCON is just around the corner, and we are obviously feeling the pressure, but I always say that pressure is a privilege. We may be the title holders, but we are going there as title contenders with a point to prove,” said the midfielder as quoted by SABC Sports.

“Botswana and Zambia play different styles of football, but what I've learned from Zambia is that they have adapted and they no longer solely rely on their fast strikers, but we managed to stifle them, whilst still playing our own game, " added the Glasgow City player.

Banyana secured a 3-2 win over Botswana in their series opener, followed by a convincing 2-0 win over Zambia in the final match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday.
