Moussa Konate: Senegal striker joins Kyzyljar in one-year deal

Senegal forward Moussa Konate has been given a lifeline after signing for FC Kyzyljar in the Kazakhstan Premier League.

The Petropavlovsk based club roped in the service of the veteran striker in a one-year contract after several weeks of discussions.

The 32-year-old was a free agent since July 1, 2025 and has been training with the Kazakh team for several weeks to keep in shape.

Prior to signing, Konaté played for Bourges Foot 18 (France), a club in which Sadio Mané holds a majority stake.

The club is currently struggling in the National 2 (fourth tier), sitting second-to-last in its group. With this new start in Kazakhstan, Konaté hopes to revive his career and bring his experience to FC Kyzyljar.

The Senegalese striker boasts a rich and international career. Former player for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Krasnodar, Genoa, Amiens, Dijon and also played in Switzerland, Türkiye, Italy, Tunisia and Georgia.

Konate has 34 international caps for the Teranga Lions with four goals under his belt after rising through the U-20 and the U-23 ranks.
