And he doubled his tally just before halftime. A cross from the left wing found the Malian, who produced an accurate volley that bounced beyond the reach of Al Raed goalkeeper Mohamed Al Otaibi.
Al Diriyah added another goal before the hour mark before holding off a late charge from hosts Al Raed. The club are one of the fast rising clubs in Saudi Arabia, boosted by major investment from the country’s Public Investment Fund. Marega is among the signings brought in by an influx of money as the club attempts to earn back-to-back promotions after winning the third tier Second Division title last season.
Moussa Marega now has six goals in eight matches since joining from Emirati club Al Sharjah. Al Diriyah are three points back of second tier leaders Abha Club.
