Mozambique and Angola face off in Portugal on Wednesday in a final warm- up for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a statement, the Fédération of Mozambique Football says the friendly will be played behind closed doors in Algarve.
Commenting on the match, Mozambique coach Chiquinho Conde said he is looking forward to building cohesion and not just winning.
Mozambique are gearing up for AFCON in Morocco where they will compete in Group F alongside Ivory Coast, Cameroonian and Gabon. The first game for Conde’s outfit is against the reigning AFCON champions next Wednesday.
Reflecting on the friendly, Angola goalkeeper Hugo Marques told Pan-Africa Football that he was excited at the prospect of facing his former Cape Town City team mate Edmison Dove who leads Mozambique’s defence.
He described meeting Mozambique as important ahead of AFCON, saying” Angola wants it more.”
Angola will open the AFCON floor against heavyweights Egypt on Monday.
Angola have a tricky group comprising Southern Africa rivals South Africa, Zimbabwe with the other opponent being record winners Egypt.
