Mozambique national team key player Bruno Langa is set for more playing time in his club career for the 2025-26 season after the left back's loan to Cypriot top flight side Pafos FC was confirmed on Friday.

The 27-year-old is regularly one of the top performers for the Mozambique national team but suffered from an unfortunate final stretch with Spanish La Liga 2 side UD Almería. The last few months of the 2024-25 season saw Langa relegated mostly to the bench, especially after receiving a red card only seven minutes after coming on at halftime in Almería's 1-2 defeat at Cádiz on May 9.

Langa only featured once more for Almería in their last five games, starting in the second leg of a 1-1 draw in the club's promotion playoff semifinal duel with Real Oviedo. The result meant that Almería fell to a 2-3 aggregate defeat and failure to earn promotion to La Liga.

The loan move to Pafos makes it likely that Langa will receive regular playing time at his club before Mozambique takes part at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by Morocco beginning in late December. The left back is an essential member of the Mambas squad, contributing a goal and four assists in six games during their successful qualifying campaign.

Langa is a fan favorite with the Mozambique team, earning praise and adoration for his high engine and ability to get forward down the left flank. The Maputo native spent time with Maxaquene and Black Bulls in his country.

Langa made his first move to Europe in 2018 when he and fellow Mozambique star Geny Catamo moved from Black Bulls to Portuguese fourth-tier side Amora, at the time owned by Mozambique investors. Both players used the opportunity to establish themselves in the top divisions of Portuguese football while becoming key players for their national team.
