Simba SC have warned their Mainland Premier League rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC) to keep their hands off Elie Mpanzu.

Reports in Tanzania emerged on Monday that Mpanzu, who signed for Simba from AS Vita, is keen to leave the club at the end of his contract and that Yanga have already been in contact over a proposed move from Msimbazi.

However, Simba Media Officer Ahmed Ally has told Yanga to forget about Mpanzu and look elsewhere “if they are in the market to sign a player of Mpanzu's quality.”

“Mpanzu is not leaving Simba soon, he is contracted to Simba and he will not leave anytime soon. Yanga are already salivating for his services, but it is not going to be possible. We are not selling Mpanzu, and he will not join Yanga, it will not happen,” said Ally in Dar es Salaam.

“We don’t have any business to negotiate about Mpanzu, and Yanga should be warned that Mpanzu is not Clatous (Chama), whom they signed from us, or Jonas Mkude, Elie (Mpanzu) is a disciplined player, who is committed to his duties at Simba. He's still got a running contract and we cannot negotiate about his release.”

Ally continued: “Yanga should continue to enjoy watching Mpanzu in Simba SC colours, and they can wait for 17 or 20 years if they want to sign him, it will not happen anytime soon and we are not ready for such business.”
