The Congolese winger was played in on goal by a brilliant pass from Clatous Chama to fire in the match winner in the 84th minute. Simba are now well on course to secure second place in the league, with five points separating them from rivals and leaders Young Africans.

Ivorian attacker Anicet Oura gave the Reds the lead inside seven minutes before Mossi Nduwumwe leveled for Singida towards the end of the first half with a header from Lamine Jarjou’s cross.

But while a talented Singida squad kept the match level, once again the underachievers failed to convert their efforts into points. Any hopes of challenging Tanzania’s elite clubs this season were crushed following a comprehensive 0-3 defeat to Young Africans last Thursday before Wednesday’s defeat, with both losses coming at home.

After failing to advance from the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, Singida are struggling to move up the table with the games in hand they have on the rest of the top flight. They currently sit in 10th place with 19 points from 13 matches.

Azam FC will finish up the day’s action at Dodoma Jiji. Earlier on Wednesday, TRA United defeated Namungo FC 2-0 to move into the top-10.
