Zimbabwe international and Marumo Gallants attacker Daniel Msendami has addressed the persistent rumours linking him with a big move to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The 25-year-old, who was recently on national duty at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, is entering the final six months of his contract with Bahlabane ba Ntwa in the Betway Premiership. With his deal set to expire in June 2026, the vultures are circling for the former Jwaneng Galaxy man, who has become one of the most talked-about names in the Betway Premiership.
Despite a modest scoring record—netting just once in 16 appearances this season—Msendami’s pace and directness have long attracted the “Big Three.” His history with current Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who coached him at Gallants, has only added fuel to the fire.
Speaking from the Warriors’ camp in Morocco, Msendami admitted he was aware of the talk but remains grounded.
“For me, the way I heard it, it was concrete [the interest from Chiefs and Pirates],” Msendami revealed. “But I didn’t put it in my mind, because if they were really interested in me, they were going to take me already.”
While he hasn’t yet set the world alight at AFCON, failing to register a goal or assist in his two appearances, Msendami is clear about his desire to step up.
“We play to reach the top league and play for big teams. I’ll definitely keep pushing very hard, and hope that as time passes, I can get an offer to reach a higher level and showcase my talent,” he added.
Regarding his future at Marumo Gallants, the Zimbabwean remains non-committal as the January transfer window looms. “My contract is expiring soon, but I’m not yet clear on what’s happening. I’ll go where I’m needed and work hard to score more goals.”
Since arriving in South Africa in July 2024, Msendami has been a regular feature for Marumo Gallants, though fans are still waiting for his clinical edge to sharpen.
Last season, he recorded three goals and three assists in 33 matches. This season, his tally stands at just one goal in 16 games. Despite the low numbers, his “X-factor” continues to keep scouts from Naturena and Mayfair on high alert.
