Revealed: Congolese star’s transfer fee to Singida Black Stars

Congolese league champions FC Les Aigles du Congo have raised the transparency bar on player transfers after disclosing the amount involved in the sale of their prized asset.

The Linafoot Ligue 1 holders have revealed the transfer fee for midfielder Linda Mtange, who has signed for Singida Black Stars SC in the Tanzanian Premier League.

It is rare in African football for clubs to put in the public domain transfer fees for their stars. However, FC Les Aigles du Congo have proved to be an exception.

The Kinshasa-based side has sold Mtange to Singida Black Stars at a whopping fee of $240,000, a statement on the Congolese club’s Facebook page says.

There are also conditions attached to the sale agreement with the Tanzanian Premier League outfit.

“The amount of the transaction was $240,000, accompanied by a 25% clause on any future player resale. The entire Samurai family sends his most sincere thanks for his services and wishes him much success in this new stage of his career,” reads the club’s statement.

FC Les Aigles du Congo have since hailed Mtange, whose creativity and goals helped the club to claim the maiden Linafoot title last season.

“After a season-and-a-half spent under our colours, Linda has shown himself as an exemplary player, both in his discipline and his unfailing commitment on the field,” adds the statement.

“Major artisan of our first historic sacred place in Linafoot, he leaves an indelible imprint in the history of the club, crowned by eloquent statistics: 13 decisive achievements.

“Beyond the numbers, Linda Mtange will remain in our hearts as a valued Samurai, a respectful professional, and a man deeply attached to the collective.”

Mtange will reunite with former Saint Éloi Lupopo player Horso Malanga Mwaku at Singida Black Stars.
