Vipers SC President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa has honored his team with a Sh200 million reward following their stellar performance in the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League, where they clinched the league title.

The Venoms were officially crowned champions after their final match of the season against Bright Stars on Saturday at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. To celebrate this achievement, Mulindwa presented a Sh200 million cheque to the players and technical staff as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

“I’m proud to fulfill my promise by rewarding this team with Sh200 million. Congratulations, and thank you for a job well done,” Mulindwa expressed during the celebrations. In addition to the team’s reward, Mulindwa also took the opportunity to recognize the exceptional performance of star forward Allan Okello.

Okello, who finished as the league’s top scorer, was gifted Sh5 million as a special reward for his impressive goal-scoring feats. “I want to congratulate Okello, our assistant captain, for his outstanding contribution to the team’s success. His goal-scoring ability has been remarkable, and this Sh5 million is a token of appreciation for his hard work,” Mulindwa said.

Under the leadership of coaches John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza, Vipers SC secured their seventh league title, finishing with 69 points—just two ahead of runners-up NEC.

This latest victory adds to the club’s growing list of accomplishments, with previous league titles in 2009/10, 2014/15, 2017/18, 2019/20, 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Looking ahead, Vipers SC now shifts its focus to the Uganda Cup final, where they will face KCCA next Saturday at Kadiba Ground. The team is aiming for a historic league and cup double to cap off their dominant season.
