Wolverhampton Wanderers FC’s manager, Vitor Pereira, has explained how Zimbabwean midfielder Marshall Munetsi brought the best in team-mate Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The United Kingdom’s Express & Star website quoted the Portuguese tactician as attributing the Norway international’s strong finish to the Premier League season to the former Orlando Pirates player.

Larsen finished the campaign with seven goals in the last nine games of the season at Molineux, a development Pereira partly attributed to the Warriors midfielder.

“He’s working a lot on the small things that make the difference, the technical things for a striker,” the Wolves boss is quoted as saying.

“But now, almost all the time, we have a player close to him, and that player is Munetsi. In France, he played behind the striker, and he attacked the space a lot. The connection between them is a good one.”

Pereira said Munetsi helped Larsen by creating space for him when Wolves were attacking.

The coach added, “I look at a video to prepare for the next game, and every time we cross a ball into the box, Munetsi is there to do the movement and open the space for Larsen.”

The Zimbabwean finished the season with two goals in 16 games after his January 2025 transfer from Reims.
