Gambia international Musa Juwara produced a confidence boosting performance in Vejle Boldklub’s comfortable victory at home to Lyngby in the Danish Superliga on Monday evening.

Vejle Boldklub beat Lyngby by 2-0 at the Vejle stadium with goals from Anders Jacobson and Juwara who joined the fray late in the game. Jacobson’s goal for Vejle can be described as a perfect passing exchange after the visitors’ momentary loss of concentration in the middle of the park.

The 35-year-old veteran pounced on a well laid pass from Greece forward Dimitros Emmanouilidis to lob the ball past Lyngby goalkeeper, Jonathan Aegidius with just seven minutes played.

The visitors failed to sleep on their oars despite going down by 1-0 early, piling pressure on the home side but Vejle kept sweeping their backline clean to move into the half time break with the slim lead.

Vejle manager, Steffen Kielstrup effected five substitutions with Musa Juwara replacing Dimitros Emmanouilidis on the 81st minute and quickly announced his presence on the field.

The former Bologna forward found the back of the net with five minutes of added time to finish the encounter. Thomas Gundelund took advantage of a defensive mistake by Lyngby to set up the onrushing Juwara who sliced the ball past goalkeeper Jonathan Aegidius.

After a number of stints in Italian football with Chievo, Torino, Bologna, Crotone plus a loan spell at Portuguese side Boavista and Danish outfit Odense Boldklub, Juwara joined Vejle from parent club Bologna in 2023 until 2026.

The 23-year-old has bagged three goals in 27 league appearances for Vejle who sit 4th on the league table with 25 points from 30 games. Lyngby are rooted in 5th on 24 points.
