Zambia national team player Kingstone Mutandwa came off the bench to score a brace which helped his team SV Ried beat Wolfsberger AC 2-1 in the Austrian Bundesliga fixture at the Lavanttal Arena on Saturday.

The Chipolopolo scored his goals in the 54th and 94th, the second coming from the penalty spot as they defeated the team of Kenya national team striker Ryan Ogam for their fourth win of the campaign.

After the opening 20th minute, the home side took the lead 1-0 through Dejan Zukic, however, substitute Mutandwa scored the equaliser for SVR after about 30 seconds on the pitch in the 53rd minute.

In stoppage time, Mutandwa increased the lead to 1-2 for SVR with a penalty, and that was the scoreline for today’s away game. SV Ried thus also surpassed the 1,000-point mark in the all-time Bundesliga table.

Meanwhile, Harambee Stars did not feature for new club Wolfsberger despite making the matchday squad.

Wolfsberger coach Peter Pacult overlooked the former Tusker FC forward, who returned to international football having scored in Kenya’s 1-0 win against Burundi in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
