Nabil Kouki ends second tenure at ES Sétif

ES Sétif have accepted the resignation of their coach, Nabil Kouki. The Tunisian coach’s second stint at the Algerian club was marred by a disappointing half-season.

Kouki could only guide Sétif to a sixth-place league finish.

Kouki, 55, asked to resign after the end of the league season, and the club accepted his decision on Sunday, June 23. In an official statement, Sétif thanked the coach for his time at the club.

“This decision was made in a spirit of understanding and mutual respect, while expressing our full appreciation for the work accomplished by the coach during his time at the helm of the club’s technical staff, both through his commitment and the efforts he made to improve the team’s performance,” said Sétif.

Sétif wrapped up the season in sixth place with 41 points. Under Kouki, Sétif played 13 games and won five times. The coach was under immense pressure after Sétif lost five games in a row.
