Namibia women’s team captain Coleman finds new European team

Namibia women’s national team captain Zenatha Coleman has joined her seventh club in Europe where she is an established professional.

The 32-year-old forward has joined little-known Doğan Türk Birliği Sports Club in Cyprus on a free transfer from Turkish club Beylerbeyi Spor where she spent two seasons.

In a reaction to her new deal, Coleman wrote on her Facebook page: “The story continues.”

The Brave Gladiators’ player’s career in Europe has alsotaken her to Gintra Universitetas (Lithuania), Zaragoza CFF, Valencia CF Femenino, Sevilla FC Femenino (all Spain), Fenerbahçe SK Women and Beylerbeyi Spor (both Turkey).

Coleman graduated from JS Academy in Namibia before launching her adventure of Europe in 2016.

Why Coleman once considered retirement

Earlier last year, Coleman considered retirement from international football after being excluded from the Brave Gladiators squad that faced Eswatini in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The forward hinted at her retirement in reaction to the final 21-member squad Namibia coach Woody Jacobs released that time.

Such remarks prompted Jacobs to clarify that the Fenerbahçe S.K attacker was dropped from the team for compassionate reasons.

“Zenatha was called up but we were informed by her club that she is in Namibia for compassionate reasons, hence we didn’t want to involve her in this game in consideration for her grandmother. Why would I omit her and for what reason when did I ever leave her out? Jacobs told Confidence website.
