The French Professional Football League (LFP) has officially amended the goalscorers list from Monday’s Classique between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, ruling that Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd was not the scorer of the decisive goal.
Initially credited to Aguerd, the fifth-minute strike at the Stade Vélodrome has now been recorded as an own goal by PSG captain Marquinhos. The LFP’s competitions committee reviewed the incident and determined that Marquinhos was the last player to make contact with the ball before it crossed the line.

The sequence saw Aguerd rise above the Brazilian defender to meet a high ball with a header, forcing goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier into a difficult situation. However, replays showed that the final deflection came off Marquinhos, prompting the reclassification.
The change deprives Aguerd of what would have been his second Ligue 1 goal of the season, having previously scored against Lorient on Matchday 4. Despite this, the Moroccan international was named Man of the Match for his commanding defensive display.
This incident does not alter the result: Marseille claimed a 1-0 victory over their fierce rivals in front of a home crowd.
The win lifted Marseille to sixth place in the standings with nine points from their opening five matches (three wins, two defeats).
