Former AS FAR Rabat forward Joseph Gnede scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Coastal Union, moving Singida up to 9th place on the league table.
The club endured controversy over the last week with goalkeeper Amas Obasogie being suspended for suspected match-fixing while Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho was suspended for indiscipline. Locked into a difficult battle, substitute Gnadou provided a much-needed moment with his long range effort.
After a strong run in league play, Azam FC were forced to settle for one point in a 2-2 draw with upstarts Pamba Jiji.

After conceding two goals on both sides of halftime, the Ice Cream Makers returned the favor close to the hour mark when Jean Jacques Ngita finished from a rebound in the 56th minute. Star midfielder Feisal Salum converted a penalty kick to level the match two minutes later before being sent off shortly after.
Azam are five points back of leaders Young Africans, who played to a 0-0 draw against rivals Simba SC in the Kariakoo Derby.
