TP Mazembe coach Lamine Ndiaye has picked positives from his team’s bright start to the Linafoot Ligue 1 season in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Lubumbashi-based giants got their season up and running with a 3-1 victory over newly-promoted CS Manika on Thursday.

Attacking midfielder Patient Mwamba gave the Ravens the lead with a 12th minute goal before Manika hit back through Kalumba. Mazembe eventually restored their advantage after defender Madou Zon’s header from a corner-kick and Die Ndongala’s strike completed the comeback.
In a post-match interview with his club’s media, the Senegalese mentor said he was impressed by his players’ tactical application during the Ligue 1 game.
“It was only the first match. There’s still a lot to improve, but I liked the group’s overall attitude,” the coach said.
Ndiaye particularly praised his players’ reaction to the opponent’s equalizer.
Mazembe’s next league match will be against Saint Lupopo on November 2, 2025 in Kibassa-Maliba.
