NEC FC have issued a fresh medical update on midfielder Siraje Sentamu, who suffered a gruesome right eyelid laceration and a frontal bone fracture during their 1-0 victory over Calvary FC on Matchday 8 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Sentamu, who joined the Bugolobi-based side from Vipers at the start of the season, was stretchered off after the nasty collision.
The club has now confirmed that the midfielder underwent successful surgery and has officially begun his recovery journey.
In a short statement, NEC announced: “Our midfielder Siraje Sentamu underwent successful surgery following a right eyelid laceration and right frontal bone fracture (supraorbital), sustained against Calvary FC in Matchday 8. His recovery process begins. Heal up, Siraje.”
The injury rules Sentamu out of NEC’s highly anticipated showdown with his former employers Vipers SC on Friday, 5th December at Lugogo. He was also absent in their recent 1-1 draw with Maroons last Saturday.
