New Asante Kotoko signing Zackaria Fuseini vows to work his way into Black Stars setup

Asante Kotoko’s new signing Zackaria Fuseini has set his sights on working his way into the Ghana senior national team after joining the Porcupine Warriors.

Fuseini joined the record Ghana Premier League holders from former champions Berekum Chelsea in a three-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 27-year-old, who made 133 appearances for the “Bibires”, has featured for Ghana’s U-23 side, the Black Meteors. His focus now is to work hard to earn a call up into the Black Stars in the near future.

Speaking to Kotoko Media, Zackaria said, “I’m honoured to be joining Asante Kotoko,” said Fuseini. “I believe this is the platform I’ve always hoped for to catapult my career to the next level.

“My focus is to win laurels with the club and to work hard for a place in the Black Stars, because I know I’m good enough. Some say this move is a few years late, but I don’t believe that.

“I’m arriving mature and experienced, and I’m ready to handle the pressure that comes with playing for such a big club.”

The sturdy centre-back had a brief stint with San Fernando CD in Spain but injuries limited him to the bench. He is expected to add depth to coach Karim Zito’s squad for next season’s domestic and continental campaign where Kotoko will feature in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
