New chairman Taiwo Salami ensures uplifting of Shooting Stars

Taiwo Salami, the newly appointed chairman of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Shooting Stars, has promised to reposition the club positively.

His appointment was announced by the Oyo State Government on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Salami, after his appointment, held discussions with members of the management team, including the General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), Mrs. Abiodun Oyeyemi, the Administrative Secretary, Babayemi Akintomiwa, and the Technical Adviser, Coach Gbenga Ogunbote.

During the meeting, the new chairman promised a change on and off the field. “I am delighted to be here, and I want to assure you that there will be massive changes, both within the office and in the field.”

Salami takes over from Babatunde Akoro, who managed the affairs of the club for about a year. Shooting Stars finished in ninth position in the NPFL last season.
