Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced his final 23-man squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Tanzania and Mozambique in June.
The squad, trimmed from a 41-member preliminary list, includes several new faces, with Orlando Pirates quartet, Simphiwe Selepe, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Mohau Nkota, and Deano Va Rooyen earning their maiden call-ups.
The announcement of the final squad was made on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the SABC television studios in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.
Notably, players from Mamelodi Sundowns were not considered for selection due to their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
The two friendly matches will be hosted in South Africa in two cities.
Broos' troops will first face Tanzania at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday, June 6, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 PM. Bafana are expected to report for camp in Johannesburg on Sunday, June 1, and will travel to Polokwane on the same day.
The second friendly encounter will see Bafana Bafana take on Mozambique at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The kick-off time for this match is yet to be confirmed.
