Ayman El Ramady, the new head coach of Egyptian club Zamalek, expressed his happiness at taking over the team during the current period.
The head coach said during the press conference held on Thursday before the upcoming match against Ceramica Cleopatra in the league: “If I recall my memory and imagine with myself that I wish to work with a team that entertains the fans and offers enjoyable football, I would not find better than Zamalek.”
El Ramady added: “Football was created for enjoyment, and Zamalek is always enjoyable. The majority of Zamalek fans are present because they follow a team that is enjoyable, and I personally love enjoyment in football.”
“I am extremely happy to coach a big team like Zamalek. Facts do not need justifications. I am proud to work with one of the biggest clubs in the Middle East. Its history speaks for itself. It is the School of Art and Engineering — and that is the most enjoyable thing for me.”
“In my first training with the team, I wanted to enjoy with the players, and for the first time in 30 years of work, I felt enjoyment like I did in yesterday's training with Zamalek players. Even if I prostrate in thanks to God, I won’t give Him His due. I am proud in front of my sons and grandchildren to work at the White Castle.”
“It is not always the case that the sons of the club are the ones who played football in the club for several years. The sons of the club are those who have the ability and willingness to sacrifice when they enter the club. And Zamalek has a large group of loyal people.”
“I did not follow the reactions after I took over Zamalek. I have been under great pressure before, and I managed matches against the coach of the Italy national team and against Maradona. The most important thing is the reaction of the players and that they have an impact. Any coach in the world who leads a team, his only weapon is the pitch. And if I rely on social media and it supports me, but the performance is not at the required level, no one will stand by me. I have no path except work.”
“For the first time in my life, I wish the day lasts 96 hours, or that time stops, because we are racing against time. I am betting on the personality of the players and their will to give their best performance against Ceramica Cleopatra.”
“Zamalek is a big team, and the many injuries bother me. Any player who will play tomorrow is registered in Zamalek, and everyone bears responsibility. I hope the injured players return quickly. We must control the treatment period, and this is one of the positive things in the world of football.”
The head coach commented on the Ceramica Cleopatra match, saying: "The opposing team is good and has distinguished players. I respect Ceramica Cleopatra. I worked with them for 22 months and I know they are a good team.”
Zamalek will face Ceramica Cleopatra tomorrow, Friday, at 5:00 p.m. GMT, as part of Matchday 5 of the Nile League championship phase.
